This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students are excited to learn base 10 math by getting to use manipulatives. I would really like to teach addition, subtraction, and regrouping using these base 10 blocks. These blocks will be used during both whole group and small group math instruction time.

My students really need these blocks to help them understand place value when adding and subtracting.

By each of my students having his or her own pack of base 10 blocks, my students will be more interested in solving addition and subtraction problems. They will have access to these manipulatives every day to help them improve these important math skills. Manipulatives are very important tools to have in the classroom. They give students the opportunity to physically and mentally understand how to solve the problems.
