Our high school is a gateway location that has shown teachers coming together to donate basic hygiene items for students, clothing items, shoes, and food. Please help our efforts to give not only incoming migrant students healthy brain food, but also other neighborhood students currently facing homelessness and food insecurity.
Students that are experiencing food insecurity also struggle in math class as they cannot focus on or process the often difficult concepts when they are hungry.
These protein-packed healthy options will give them the energy to work on their critical thinking skills and also realize the teachers and school care about them and their success.
Our students come to us from a variety of situations. Many are typical teenagers living with their parents; however, many are living in shelters and group homes, and don't know what the future holds. Please allow us to provide just a small snack each day that will give them hope to finish the school year strong.
