Adding More Diversity: Romeo and Juliet Graphic Novels

My Project

As my 8th-grade students enter the second half of the school year, they will be introduced to Elizabethan England and Romeo and Juliet.

Students will benefit from using high-interest graphics novels of Romeo and Juliet to support their understanding of the play, while at the same time seeing characters with more diversity.

The graphic novels will be used in conjunction with the original Shakespearean play to help students better understand the first Shakespearean play they've been exposed to this school year.

At this point in the school year, students also need new scissors to use while completing assignments in connection to the texts being read in class.
