Adding Color to 1st Grade- And Laminating It!

My students need reusable supplies and materials. A color printer will allow me to print materials directly from my lesson plans, and the laminator will allow me the advantage of using the materials multiple times.

My Students

My students are active, eager, creative, talkers, movers, thinkers, and dreamers. They are my inspiration, and our future.

I teach at a Title I school located in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia, where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.

Despite coming from a diverse background ranging from homelessness and split families to a low-income demographic, my students enter our classroom eager to learn and do their best everyday. I want to help them succeed in every adventure they embark upon, starting with their educations!

My Project

Much of the time spent learning in my classroom is by rotating through centers. To use the centers' materials multiple years would save precious teacher planning time and reinforce the "reduce, reuse, recycle" mantra we have been teaching our students.

The current black-and-white, print-every-day worksheets are monotonous and use so much paper!

The Canon wireless color printer will bring color to the stations and help to spark the creativity of the students using them.

It is my goal to create a colorful and engaging learning environment for my students, as well as to reduce the amount of waste that leaves my room. By having the Scotch Pro laminator, I will be able to have worksheets and other materials that the students can use multiple times, and for many, many years. My students will be able to collaborate more effectively by having materials that can be shared, as well as reused by the next group.
