Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are in the midst of our clock unit now, and we do not have access to clocks that each child can manipulate to learn to tell time to the hour, half-hour, to five minutes, and down to the minute. By having access to their own clocks that they can manipulate to solve clock problems, my students are having an invaluable learning experience--one in which they will need to know the rest of their days to tell time correctly. I also want to create more engaging stations around the room for students to be able to interact with one another and the content at hand, but we don't have access to clipboards to walk around with. By having access to clipboards, we can take our learning anywhere--the opportunities are endless. We can take our classroom around the school, outside the school, around in stations, on a field trip, anywhere!

I also want to have access to art supplies to create a more STEAM-centered classroom.

By having access to supplies like colorful paper, crayons, and cardstock, my kids can be learning cross-curriculum.

I also want to have access to more highlighters. My kids have thoroughly enjoyed using highlighters this year as they learn to mark up texts, compose and decompose by highlighting what they are bundling and unbundling, and more! I want my kids to have access to these supplies through the end of the year and into next year.
