This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Adding and subtracting is a skill children will need everyday of their lives. Help us add things up by supplying manipulatives to practice addition and subtraction problems.

I teach kindergarten in a low-socioeconomic area where more than 80% of the school qualifies for free and reduced lunch.

With that in mind that doesn't stop the amount of learning that goes along with these children. They come to school every morning ready and willing to learn.

My Project

These addition and subtraction materials will help kindergarten students understand the beginning concepts of addition and subtraction. It will give them a hands-on approach to really understand these math concepts. By having lots of practice, these students will have the framework of this very important math concept and be ready to use what they learned for first grade.

I believe children do much better when able to apply what they learned in a lesson by using manipulatives to show what they have learned.

By supplying these manipulatives, they will be able to do exactly that.
