Added Hybrid SEL Learning Productivity Using a TWOSCREENS Dual Monitor!
Help me give my students Social Emotional Activities using the Growth Mindset, Mindfulness, and Anger Management activity workbooks. In addition help me create an improved faster hybrid-learning Social Emotional Learning (SEL) experience using a dual monitor!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My Baltimore City middle school classes are such an exciting group of special needs students with mixed interests, abilities, and goals. Some of my students are learning to read, write, problem solve and calculate, while some of their classmates are focused on attaining life skills. Our group loves to use computers, perform experiments, play outside, learn new games, and dance to a sweet tune.
In this class, we build a community around what we have in common and our shared experiences.
We are part of a larger school that celebrates inclusion. I teach an 8th grade inclusion math class; 6-8 self-contained science class; and a 6-8 ELA class. As my students make gains in my classroom, they begin to try small chunks of the day with their typically developing peers. My classroom is about building skills to get included. The work we do in this classroom is building relationships, staying with the group, following directions, and accessing general education content in different ways. We celebrate little wins together each day.
My Project
Hybrid Learning could be so much more productive and faster using the two screens! Currently, there is a TWOSCREENS $50 promotion and an ALLSTATE matching SEL promotion that will help pay for the purchase of a second laptop screen and Social Emotional Learning activities! As I am teaching and sharing one screen I will be able to monitor students individually using GoGuardian without having to laboriously click back and forth, and stop sharing screens. Special needs students frequently need one-to-one assistance and clear responses to their questions. With two monitors I can both teach the whole group and give real-time immediate assistance. I will also be able to have material ready on one screen while teaching on another. This is a win-win for all of us!!
