My students need Chromebooks to become technologically literate and ready to take on the 21st century. There are 4 Chromebooks in my cart and in obtaining these, I am slowly working on getting 1:1 student/device ratio.

My Students

We are in a community with low or little income. Our school operates on minimal supplies, most of which are purchased out of the teachers' own pockets. We have one computer lab that is utilized by twelve different classes in 2.5 days. We have very little time to meet the technological needs of our students. This increases the gap, of which our students fall short.

Everyone has a passion.

Only some are able to research and develop that passion. My fifth grade classroom is full of enthusiastic students, ready to learn and participate in their "school lives." My wish for my students is to have the necessary tools to learn, grow and understand in this world we live in.

My Project

The Chromebooks will be used for all subject areas and they will help students continue to be lifelong learners in all areas of studies. They will use the Chromebooks to connect with authors and illustrators, to do research, coding, documenting digitally their learning.

We are in a technological age and I want my students to have the knowledge they need to navigate through technology.

Technology is not readily available to all students, yet I want my students to at least have the necessary equipment/computers to push them forward and put them at less of a disadvantage than they already are.

These computers will close the gap for our students.
