Add Some More Light!

My students need these additions to contain the sensory items obtained in my previous Donors Choose project. The transparent Builders Prisms will create a creative twist to building on top of the light table.

My Students

My students live in an extremely low income/high poverty but come to school happy to be there. All of them receive free breakfast, lunch, and a snack.

The students with the highest need take weekend food trays home on Friday for the Saturday and Sunday meals.

Although many of the students' lives are difficult, school is their safe haven. This can be seen by their bright, smiling faces revealing their eagerness to learn, and their delight in experiencing everything that is new.

My Project

These two items will be incorporated into a previous Donors Choose project - Add Some Light. The Light Table Sensory Tray is necessary to contain the sensory items. Without it, the small pieces will fall onto the floor. The Click Builders Prisms will be used to create scenes, structures, or whatever a pre-k student’s mind can think of. I believe these two items will enhance the Light Table in my room by creating a sense of wonder at how light can be used with the building of a structure. My students will be eager to take a turn at this center.
