My Students

My students attend an urban, inner city school in Connecticut. The majority qualify for free and reduced-price lunch. Most have never been introduced to making art before experiencing it at school In order for my students to have a well-rounded education, the arts are an integral part. By practicing visual art, it has been shown that students can improve concentration and focus in other academic areas. Students who often struggle with other aspects of school find a refuge in making and creating art.

My Project

I would love to give my students the best art experiences possible, but I just don't have the basic supplies they ask me for. They love using colored pencils, markers, paint sticks and paint, and I am out or running low on both. I have no glue at all in my classroom which limits the type of projects I can do with them. Your donations will help provide glue, paint, markers, colored pencils and paint sticks for my students. They love to create and nothing gets them more excited than brand new supplies donated by special art appreciators like you.
