This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Children feel loved, empowered and successful in order to achieve their highest levels of personal academic excellence. Our goal is to instill habits in our students that will foster autonomy and help them become the leaders of today and the future.
We are a Title One school in Corona, Queens which was greatly affected by the pandemic as their community was labeled the epicenter of Covid-19.
Throughout it all, students have continued to try their best to stay engaged. We are a Leader In Me School that is preparing them to be part of society.
My Project
In order for students to feel welcomed and engaged, the classroom needs to be full of color. The classroom needs to be decorated with important reminders and charts during math, reading, writing and social studies lessons.
For every unit we display the essential questions, the theme, the skills, and vocabulary in the front of our classroom.
Students are provided with printed resources to help them work independently. If these could be printed in color, it would make a huge difference.
Color printers could also be used to print out awards of recognition. Awards become so much more meaningful in color!
