This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Adaptive swings are specially designed swings that provide unique benefits for young students, particularly those with sensory processing challenges, physical disabilities, or special needs. These swings are tailored to address various sensory, motor, and developmental needs, offering a range of therapeutic advantages. We currently have 2 but the safety straps are broken and students can no longer use them. These swings are typically used daily by all students in order to provide equitable access and opportunities.

We are a Title One I in Denver, housing over 300 3, 4 and 5 year olds.

Recess is one of the most important parts of the day for students to have gross motor movements, unstructured play time and time to interact with their peers.

The swing mats will also help our students easily get on and off of the other swings with ease.
