This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a passionate National Board Certified Education Specialist working in a high school setting. Our school is a Title I school serving a diverse population. The students I work with are determined and strive to persevere through social, emotional, and academic challenges. My Community-Based Instruction (CBI) class has worked on the yearbook staff, attended school activities, volunteered in the community, and served on the (ASB) Associated Student Body. They excel with movement and hands-on experiences. I am blessed to be their teacher and strive to encourage students beyond their greatest expectation.
These adaptive drums will help my students with unique needs participate in our weekly social emotional drum circles facilitated by a representative from REMO.
These adaptive drums will serve students that have mobility struggles, and allow them to access the drums with switches. These weekly drum circles build community and help my students relax and focus. Thank you for supporting students with unique needs.
