My Project
Hello! My name is Kathi Bundy and I am a Teacher of the Deaf. I work in an EC PreK class with 3-5 year olds. All of our students have significant expressive and receptive language delays; and many have cognitive and developmental disabilities as well. My job is to make language accessible for each student regardless of where they are on their language journey. I make materials each week to use in our class to highlight key vocabulary, encourage communication, and to foster self-advocacy skills. Everything from DIY story props to communication boards are created on a regular basis--which takes a lot of ink, cardstock, and laminating sheets!
My goal for this project is to continue this train of language-rich materials.
I have seen so much growth this school year already, which greatly encourages me to continue doing what works!
