Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am reaching out on behalf of my incredible students in our special education classroom, where we celebrate differences, nurture growth, and support every child’s unique way of learning and thriving. We are currently seeking support to enhance our physical and sensory learning environment with adaptive sports and sensory equipment.

My students in special education benefit significantly from movement-based activities that support their physical, emotional, and sensory development and representation!

To better meet their needs, we are in need of the following equipment:

A small trampoline for vestibular input and self-regulation

An adaptive basketball hoop to support motor skills and inclusive play

A variety of soft and textured balls to encourage coordination and sensory exploration

A ball pit to provide a calming sensory experience

Other adaptive sports materials that allow for movement, engagement, and joy

These tools are more than just recreational—they are vital to helping our students self-regulate, build motor skills, and participate in group activities in a way that feels safe and enjoyable for them. With your help, we can create a more inclusive and supportive environment where every child can move, play, and grow at their own pace.
