My Project
The wonderful students in my adaptive classroom are hard working and exceptional. Several are on the Autism spectrum and struggle with focus and attention. Since technology is used for most instruction, my students struggle with fine motor skills such as writing and using manipulatives. Some students need help with grip strength as well. I'd love to have more hands-on activities in workbooks and manipulatives that we can complete together.
With these products, students can have a break from constant technology and work on fine motor skills, reading, and connecting concepts at their own pace.
Our group activities in these workbooks will foster a sense of community in our classroom which strengthens mental health. Students with exceptionalities often struggle with social skills, verbal expression, and anxiety. It is my hope that we can use these tools along with other teaching strategies to build the self-esteem of our students.
