Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach at a school with multiple programs for students with various needs and disabilities. I have various tools to help support students with low muscle tone in the art classroom; however, some still need more support.
My students are resilient and brave despite medical conditions they deal with every day; they want to be independent like any other child.
This tool would increase their access while building fine motor skills and strength.
This device is relatively new, and with our budgets dropping every year, I will never be able to provide a tool like this without donor support. My students deserve incredible adaptive tools regardless of our school budget. They deserve to keep moving closer to independence in whatever ways they can.
More than half of students from low‑income households
