This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students have special needs (delays in vision, hearing, sensory, motor skills). Many of them are not yet able to use their hands in the same manner as typical children. Luckily, some battery powered toys can be adapted to be activated by a "switch" (or large "button"). I have many switches, but I lack the switch-activated toys.

My students may not be able to use their fingers or hands to activate a battery-powered toy, but with the right adapted toys, they can still enjoy themselves and participate just like their typically developing peers.

Children love to play with Tickle-Me Elmo or activate a music box. My students are no exception.
