Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are children with Autism in the city of Detroit. These students are very active and they love physical activity. They are in self- contained classrooms and some of the students are non-verbal while others have behavior issues related to their disability.

The students have difficulty with social skills and need assistance in appropriate peer interactions.

They need ample opportunities to experience sensory activities to regulate their response to external stimuli. Sensory input is important to these students and various physical fitness objects would be most beneficial for them.

My Project

All of our students love movement and play. Many times our children are left on the sidelines during gym time just sitting and doing nothing. This gym equipment will allow them to exercise at their own pace and needs. Many times their schools don't have the necessary equipment for our children.

Your generous donation will further the education of these inner city children with autism.

Movement education is valuable to these children along with academic achievement.

Soccer and speed stacking cups help increase body coordination as well as overall physical fitness. The Fleece ball will be used for hand strength development.
