Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Due to the current pandemic my students and I are forced apart and unable to continue learning in the way we've grown accustomed. My students are special in a multitude of ways! My students are amazing individuals from the age of 3 to 22 years old. My students are unique individuals in Special Education that require an Individualized Education Plan that modifies and accommodates instruction to fit their specific needs. My students have a variety of disabilities from Autism, Intellectual Disabilities to Other Health Impairments and more. My class is made up of fun-loving, kind-heart students from a low socio-economic area. My students are now learning and performing physical activities at home, some in small spaces and without proper equipment.
My Project
These materials will help students remain physically active at home. This project will help playground equipment get in to the hands of our most vulnerable students.
Physical activity is vital to the growth of the whole child.
When students left school in March 2020 some exited with electronic devices such as laptops and iPads to continue their distance-learning, but were not give items such as balls, jump ropes and paddles to continue growing their physical education skills. These materials will help students continue to safely work on gross motor skills.
