My students need an activity table to help in our efforts to meet in small groups and a place where the students and I can conference about their work.
Every day in our class I try to meet all the needs of my students and it is currently difficult to do so. There is limited space in my room and I want to be able to meet with my students in small groups and individually.
Having an easier way to work in small group will let me have more accessibility to have small group of 4-5 instead of 1-2 that currently fit at the table in my classroom.
My students are a great group of kids this year. I have a range of abilities and interests. We often work in small groups on projects together. I also have small groups working with me at independent times in the classroom as well. My students would love an organized space that is devoted strictly to group work/activities. Our school district is not the richest district by any means and I know that if I ask for an activity table, it would not be in the funds to be able to get one for me. I know they would if the money was there.
My Project
My students will use the activity table while working in small groups with me in a reteaching/enrichment sort of way. They will also use it when working in small groups with each other on an assignment or project during any subject area (we do projects in all of the core subject areas at various times). The kids would really benefit from an additional learning space.
Increasing locations and options for student learning environments always improves the way that students learn.
It gives the kids an additional space to conduct experiments or work with me if something needs to be retaught to them. What a great addition to my classroom!!!
