Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school was established in 1928, and has been serving a small community for many generations. It will be my 21st year teaching, and I had an awesome experience of teaching my former student's daughter in my class last year.
My school is a Title I school, where a lot of my students qualify for the reduced price or free lunch program.
Many students come from diverse cultural backgrounds. There are 16 different languages spoken at my school. Most are English language learners, speaking English as their second language.
After teaching 17 years in Kindergarten, I will be back in 2nd grade this fall. I'm excited to teach students who will be able to do so much on their own; collaborating, researching and working independently to be innovators!
My Project
I just moved my classroom. In this new classroom, I need another activity table that is long and rectangular to fit into the room.
My students would use the table for small groups, play reading and math games together, do their center work, do science activities, read together, and much more.
My new classroom is not big, so a round table or a regular desk will not work for the purposes. This long table will make it very easy for us to move around it and make it
very easy to work cooperatively.
Please consider donating to this project! Thank you so much!
