My Students

We began the school year virtually, then transitioned to blended instruction, now all students are face to face. In addition to all the changes to our school year, we have also missed school because of 2 hurricanes. Parents have a choice, their children can come to school for face to face learning or may remain remote learners. I will teach them all. I want my students to have everything they need to learn, whether it is in the classroom or from home. Kindergarteners are energetic, explorers, and need engaging activities. They enjoy and need hands-on learning, movement, and discovery.

My Project

I want my students to have materials they can use at home. The best way to learn is by doing, to be actively engaged in learning.

My students need take home bags with materials at home to help them practice what they learn in school.

My students need tens frames to build numbers, learn the concept of greater than and less than, and to add and subtract. They also need base 10 blocks to understand the base 10 number system and to build number sense. Building number sense in the early grades is so important and helps students with math their entire life. My students need letter tiles to build consonant-vowel- consonant words and manipulate the beginning, middle, and ending sounds of words. Letter tiles will enable students to build a strong phonics foundation.

I want to support students and their families by providing math and literacy materials they need to help students at home. My goal is to meet students needs, to communicate well with families, and provide activities that will help students and provide fun learning opportunities at home.
