Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are in grades K-5 and they are very excited about learning. The students rotate to me twice a week to work on activities related to STEM. They use computers, task cards, robotics, kits, and iPads to interact with real-world models and scenarios that are connected to the STEM curriculum. We use inquiry-based learning to activate critical thinking in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math on a daily basis as I strive to enhance the curriculum for the students.

My Project

I would like to use the resources books to make task cards with the students in grades k-5 in order to enhance their learning experience.

We will then use the activities to create projects that tie in with the curriculum in the areas of science and math.

As an extension we will incorporate writing and art for the "A" in STEAM. The activities books and kit are engaging research based practices that can be used over and over and revisited as we cover key concepts.

My main goal is to prepare the students to be college and career ready while promoting lifelong learning.
