I will be a first year teacher at our school in Baltimore County. I completed my senior year internship there last year, and I fell in love with the students, community and school. My students are active and like to feel as if they are taking an active role in their learning.

My Project
Students are more engaged when they are able to have flexible seating options. I believe that allowing my students to have various seating options will make them more engaged in lessons and more eager to learn.
The power of movement in the classroom improves learning!
Students are active and should be allowed to express this within their classroom community, allowing them to feel safe and more willing to take risks. When students are able to identify and honor their preferences for movement and alternative positioning, they feel their needs are being acknowledged. This leads to a sense of belonging and community in the classroom!
