All students are special, but the little goofballs I get to know are the most special to me. They come from diverse backgrounds, and many find the most consistency in their day from school.
These outstanding fifth graders have many needs that often get ignored in traditional school settings.
Students come with diagnosed ADD, ADHD, Aspergers Syndrome, and other issues. For them to excel in school, the needs of the whole child must be met. Please help me to meet their needs.
My Project
Please help my students receive more active seating options. My students are given the opportunity quite often to have flexible seating options and move around through the day to work with others. Active seating stools and bouncy balls allow for this to work even better. We expect our students to be active learners, so we need to provide the opportunity to increase blood flow and engagement.
Research shows that active seating increases student attention spans.
We have very high expectations of our children, so why not give them an upper hand? None of us wants to be still all day, so help me harness the energy of youth in a positive way!
