We are an active, energetic group of 2nd grade learners. We consider ourselves a family and an awesome community of learners! Our school has over 730 students in K-5th grade.
Our school provides a safe and supportive environment for learning.
I want each student to feel that their learning needs are met in my classroom. I have created a classroom environment where all of my students feel safe, enjoy learning and are active citizens of our community at our wonderful school!
My Project
My second grade students all learn in a variety of different ways. I believe that my students will benefit from a flexible seating environment in my classroom. Flexible seating will allow students to take charge of their learning by making a seating choice that works best for them. In the past my students have worked in different locations in the classroom such as: sitting at different tables, sitting or laying on the floor with a clipboard, or sitting on the floor with a lap desk. I have noticed that my students are more engaged and motivated to get their work done when they are able to make these flexible seating choices.
Increased motivation and higher engagement is the goal of "Active Learning with Flexible Seating." All of the students will benefit by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices.
Students will be happy, relaxed and engaged in their work.
