My students are very active individuals who need to be moving most of the time. I have a classroom that allows them to become active participants in the learning process. This helps them to become invested in their learning on a daily basis.
My children are a wonderful group of Learning Support students who are striving to achieve.
We have a classroom that breaks everyday tasks into smaller parts so that they can completely grasp the concepts being taught. We work at a slower pace which allows us to focus on their individual strengths and weaknesses. This individualized instruction is made stronger by the little things within the classroom which include the listening center and math centers.
The more my students become involved in their learning the more they begin to take ownership of their learning. My students love to read but they this is very difficult for them. I utilize my listening center so that they are able to read books that are age appropriate even though they are not on their reading level.
My Project
The materials requested will allow my students to become more independent. This means that I can work individually with students while the others are completing their center activities that relate to the subject area being taught.
The libraries that I would like to order will be incorporated in our everyday math station activities. This will allow them to go from station to station to complete the activities provided to reinforce our math lessons. These centers will help the students who have different approaches to learning. Some children need to see things in print but others need to use their hands and manipulative to grasp the everyday math concepts. These centers will also allow my students to listen to books like The River even though they would have trouble reading it independently. These center activities will help them gain confidence in their abilities.
These donations will make my classroom an even more productive and independent classroom.
My students will take ownership of their learning and want to succeed as much as I want to succeed. Independence is key within the Learning Support classroom.
Again these centers will allow my students to use the manipulative and activities to help them further understand the math concepts. Also my students will gain self confidence while listening to age appropriate books. Active Learning is the Key!
