My students need the soft seats and wobble cushion to be comfortable when learning on the floor. They need the Write & Wipe Answer boards to help them from calling out and the sight word game is engaging!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are ages 4-5. The majority of them are English Language Learners who have never attended full-time school before. They live in homes with non-English speaking parents or caretakers.
My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day.
Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. For most of my students, our classroom is their only opportunity to experience teamwork and become successful learners.
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting will help my Kindergarten students be active learners. We often work in small groups and sitting on the floor can become uncomfortable. The sitting cushions will help my students learn comfortably and provide a warm environment in the classroom.
Active learning is an essential part of a Kindergarten classroom.
The students will be learning letter names and sounds through books, songs, and games. The sight word swap game I am requesting will be a favorite of my students when they play together to practice their sight words. I am sure they will enjoy writing on the dry erase paddles as well!
