Active Learning Fun

My students need fun and engaging activities to promote active play during recess. We need jump ropes, activity scarves and more.

My Students

My low socio-economic students are soaring in the classroom and need to grow outside too! I have a combined class of students having English as their first language and English Second Language learners as well as those with special learning needs. Many of my students have never experienced the joys of a good book and a percentage of family members who have never completed high school. My school is involved in a federal program that provides all students with free breakfast and lunch as the largest percentage are already free or reduced meals.

My Project

My class is provided with playground twice a week during recess time. During the other three days we are limited to playing tag during recess time. The requested items will allow my students to not only be active but also be entertained and learning. The items will allow them to express themselves creatively as well as to have some non-structured time that is still organized and engaging.

I want my kids to gain social skills and to have opportunities to release their stress of the day as well as their energy so that when we return to the classroom they are focused and ready to learn!

I am requesting comet balls, jump ropes, beanbags, activity scarves, and swing & catch cups to use during recess. This will give my students more flexibility in their recess options.
