This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

A fun classroom, where learning is happening in cleaver new ways. Students learn differently and I want each of mine to have every advantage to do just that. We work hard together, love each other, understand that we may fail, but with the attitude that we will try again and successfully succeed.

My students have such a passion for learning new things and truly try their best to create exemplary work.

These students need to explore different worlds, learn lasting morals, and find comfort in the ideas of reading various texts. Given the community, these students may never be provided opportunities to develop the reading habits to become strong readers for college and beyond. Happy students = Happy graduates!

My Project

Staying active is important in order to keep 5th graders engaged. Students aren't used to sitting still for a long time nor do they enjoy it. We try to spend some time on the carpet but with a class full of big 5th graders it is often hard to find room for everyone to fit. They still have work that has to be completed at their desks sometimes. 35 Active Chairs will allow my students to sit and move at the same time. They allow just enough wiggle to be comfortable, yet allow the student to focus better. I love that the students have to sit up because there's no back to lean against. These Active Chairs can be used at their desks, at the computer tables, or near the rug for whole class lessons. They can be moved all around the classroom.

With these Active Chairs learning will be more fun.

With these new Active Chairs, the students in my classroom that need a little extra movement during their day will be able to sit on these stools and wiggle while they work! Students will move and learn! I would love to transform our 5th grade classroom with a class set of gray Active Chairs. Here's to hoping our dreams come true through wonderful donors who care.
