My students are bright and caring children. They love to work together and learn in active ways! Our school is arts-integrated, which means we teach concepts through the arts, including drama, visual arts, creative movement, and creative writing. We also teach and foster collaboration as a key cornerstone in our curriculum.
Our students learn how to work as a group through the creative process.
They take pride in their work and love to celebrate each other's accomplishments. Our school is such a positive environment!
My Project
In my school, the teachers are responsible for teaching PE and providing the equipment. Unfortunately, I moved grade levels this year and my new classroom did not have any equipment. It is hard to teach PE without equipment! I asked the students what kinds of games they want to play this year. They told me games with balls, such as soccer and kickball. They also said they wanted hula hoops and jump ropes for recess and to play games like tag. Thankfully, our district PE and Health teacher gave me a packet of fun games that the kids can play with bean bags and small foam balls. I am so excited to teach my students cooperative skills all while staying active and having fun!
