My Students

I teach second graders who are full of life, excitement, and curiosity. They are energetic and crafty.

Each year, my students are encouraged to be curious, explore, and examine possibilities.

I work to take my class from a group of individuals to one community of learners.

I will help my students develop a love for learning and the desire to become lifelong learners. I provide hands-on, projects and activity-based learning experiences for my students. I encourage play and help my students develop their creativity. I will also work to develop empathy and compassion in my students.

My Project

Having desk fidget bands will help my students stay focused on their work while also meeting their need to move. My students tend to be very fidgety. Giving them a way to move while at their desk for work will help them stay focused. I currently have one desk fidget band. It has been very helpful for one student at a time, but other students are very interested in it and have asked for them as well. I would like to make fidget bands available to all my students. Everyone deserves the right to move around when they feel the need.

Active bodies and active minds go hand in hand.

Desk fidget bands will allow my students to move around, keeping them more focused and energized, while channeling their energy in the right direction.
