Help me give my students the opportunity to move while learning through clipboards, kick bands on chairs for fidgety feet, and a basketball because kids love to play!
My students come in the door every morning looking forward to the new experiences they are going to encounter. As with most 5th graders, my students have a lot of energy which we channel through hands on activities and solving real world problems. Being a charter school, the majority of my students have been with each other since kindergarten.
This has created such a unique dynamic between my kids where they truly treat each other as family.
As with every family, we have so many different personalities and skill sets. We try to reach the potential of each student through a variety of learning methods such as group work, hands on activities, and interactive class discussions. They walk in my door everyday with an energy that is radiating curiosity and a love of learning. I am so blessed to lead these students as they grow in their academics and watch as they become the next leaders of our world.
My Project
Help our students move out of their desk and learn anywhere in the classroom with the use of clipboards! Or for our active little ones, the fidget bands will allow their feet to be moving as quickly as their brains are! The page protector pockets will allow our students to practice their new skills, and wipe away their mistakes as they learn. At the end of the day when our kids have worked as hard as they can, we love going out to the basketball court to play. The only problem is, we don't have a basketball! Our boys ask me for a basketball to play with everyday and are so disappointed when I tell them I still don't have one. Help me make their recess full of teamwork and camaraderie by providing a basketball for them to play with.
