Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We have an amazing population of students at our school. With our school located right on the edge of downtown, our students come from all sorts of backgrounds. Some of them come from the neighborhoods just above the school while others come from the shelter a couple blocks down.
The one thing our students have in common is that when they walk through the doors of our school, they are ALL ready to work hard.
We do everything we can as individual teachers and a whole school to use their desire to work hard and learn to help these students reach their goals.
My Project
My awesome students would greatly benefit from a classroom with occupational therapy resources to support them. My students would use these resources throughout the day. Bouncy Bands would provide my active students an outlet for their high energy that sometimes gets in the way of their learning. These will be excellent resources to my students for times when they need to be seated. Bouncy Bands will allow them to move their bodies without interrupting their learning.
The Bouncy Bands will support my students' learning by leaving them less frustrated and with more willingness to approach academic tasks that require them to be at their desks.
This will be hugely beneficial to my very active students!
