Help me give my students a goal graphing chart pad, write and wipe sentence strips, sight words activity chest and self-inking math stamps! These will compliment our ongoing daily ELA and Math goals and activities well!
I have curious, energetic, creative, inspiring, and eager-to-learn kindergarten students in my classroom each year. I lead an organized, focused and differentiated learning environment with access to materials that address each need among various subject disciplines.
At the end of each year, and continuously throughout their educational journey, I want my students to be confident learners, seekers of knowledge and great citizens for our school, their families and the community around us.
I work diligently for each student to be challenged daily and be the best that they can be, where he or she is at, in their kindergarten journey and beyond.
I have eighteen full-time kindergarten students and eight additional developmental students that "push-in" for fifty percent of the day in the school year 2018-2019.
They all arrive with a variety of interests, talents, backgrounds and specific emotional and physical needs. All my students need fluid transitions, a prepared, print-rich, and organized environment, sensory breaks and consistent encouragement to keep them focused and ready for each task ahead. My school is an amazing family of strong leaders and teachers, support staff, parents, and community members.
My Project
In my classroom, we write ongoing goals and celebrate our accomplishments individually and as a class. The Graphing Chart Pad will be a perfect visual to watch how much we grow and allow the students to track it "live" in class! Not only will this encourage new goals to be met, but the students can experience the world of graphing and reading data correctly.
Along with this amazing Graphing Chart tool, the Write and Wipe Sentence Strips will help save paper and allow me to provide examples for my students who can feel more at ease as they complete things in their own writing.
They can read, copy and edit what they have helped me write on these strips, and then I can erase these and use again and again. I give my students prompts continuously and having these available at each table will be such a perfect support!
I always want my literacy centers to have self-starting, hands-on materials. The Sight Words Activity Chest would be a perfect activity as the students secure their basic sight words each day. I love how they can repeat the practice with the same word, but in a new way to deeply cement the learning!
Finally, the self-inking math stamps can be used in countless ways from the beginning of kinder to the end! We start by number recognition, number comparison, addition, subtraction and so much more! These are easy for small hands to manipulate and show what they know in a math center. The students will be more engaged because they all love stamps and being able to show their mathematical skills in creative ways!
