This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Every teacher will tell you that their students are special! This is because they are! Each student is an individual with the ability to learn uniquely and distinctly. As a teacher, we want to address each student's learning style gingerly and tenaciously. My desire is to teach students to love the learning process by making it enjoyable. It has been said: "Iron sharpens iron" as a result I have gained deep inner satisfaction supporting students through the learning process. I am committed to them and vow to be a proactive role model developing future leaders.
My speech and language students require maximum stimuli that captures their attention.
Here at PS 103 our population is a culturally diverse group. They are truly unique and intricate individuals. They need positive role models to guide them grow through the learning process. Our school population ranges from struggling, low economic and impoverished communities with rich moral family values. Despite their hardships, students here at PS 103 demonstrate strengths beyond the norm. All you have to do is supply them with the needed tools, materials and resource to increase their learning experiences. They all have the potential to be life-long learners, can you help?
My Project
The materials will be use to help our students increase their Knowledge, prompting them to be our future scientist. The books selected will expose and make students curious about animal life. They will have access to a library filled with interesting books.
The purpose for using large print books containing vivid illustrations is to stimulate brain activity, resulting in increase curiosity and a desire to learn more.
especially those who depend on visual cues to learn. They will benefit greatly from this science genre! With the tools, materials and resources provided by your generous spirit you will become our heros!
In the field as a special education teacher, our students range from developmentally delayed to speech and language impaired. These materials will afford our students the opportunities to engage in art projects that tap into their creative minds. Drawing and illustrate facts they learned from the non fiction text is a fun way to experience and build knowledge on specific topics. Actively participating and introducing hands on activities will bridge the connections between topics learned and real life. Our students with developmental delays will be able to process and internalize information, resulting in increase participation in group discussions and conversations which is an area in which they currently struggle. With your help all of these goals can be accomplished!
