Please help me get these items for my high school library. I have some important goals that I will always continue to work on. First and foremost, always to encourage and promote a love for books and reading. Then, to provide a safe, welcoming area for all students; and lastly, to provide activities that encourage interaction among students, and that also help to use their brains as well as social skills
The supplies in this project will help towards all of these goals in a variety of ways.
The activity and coloring books will be great for students to work on, by themselves or with each other, and help stimulate thinking and interacting while doing things they enjoy, such as crosswords and word finds, and even simply soothing coloring.
The vinyl is used to make decorative items as well as labels for our media center to continue to create that welcoming environment over a sterile and intimidating environment. I want this to look as much like a homey, comfortable, sitting room and library as I can.
The Virtual Reality case is for a Virtual Reality set that I received on another grant, and it helps to have something to safely carry it around and store it in rather than the box that is breaking down. This is something we use in here during lunches, and the students enjoy not only watching each other as they do the various games, but it also has educational value as they work on saving the oceans and exploring the world in National Geographic experiences.
All together, these continue to make our library a great place that students want to be!
