My students are eager, excited, active learners. They come to school ready to dive into whatever the day has to offer.
All of my students are unique and bring their uniqueness to class with them everyday.
They come from different backgrounds and different cultures, but they all come for the same reason: to grow and learn.
Our TK-8 school is located in the fertile central valley of California, surrounded by farmland and dairies. Many of my students are bilingual and are still cementing their English skills. They are eager to excel and willing to work very hard to do so.
The world has become closer together due to the internet and instant access to information from all over the world. My students are endlessly curious about other people and other places.
Comparing the lives of the characters my students meet in their reading to their lives in our small farm town fascinates them.
Having a convenient world map to locate other places and other countries will add depth to their explorations.
The more my students learn about other people and places, the more obvious it becomes that we are more alike than different....a valuable lesson for all of us to learn.
