Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am the school counselor for around 520 students. My students at OWES are accepting, compassionate, loyal, caring, and most of all persevering. The majority of them come from low-income families. Some are recovering or currently going through some sort of trauma. It is my job to give all these students social and emotional support. I am asking for donations to help with this practice. All my students need a chance to feel successful, and I am trying to help them accomplish this goal.
My Project
Who doesn't love a good competition? Our students sure do! We, as a building, have been struggling with our attendance this year. I have decided to step up our expectations! I want to have a competition that kids can earn valuable prizes just by coming to school. The expectation of each student is to have a week of perfect attendance, for a chance to win one of these great prizes. I am asking for your support by donating to this great cause. I think the tablets, UNO Electronic game, drone and other items will be great incentives to get kids excited about coming to school.
