My Students

I cannot even explain to you how much I love what I do! I work in a high poverty, high needs school with some of the best children I have ever met! They are enthusiastic and come in ready to learn. They tell me daily that coming to school is their favorite part of their life. They want to succeed and they want to prove people wrong. People write them off because of where they live or where they are from.

I do my best every day to build them up and help them realize just how amazing they are.

When I graduated I knew I wanted to work in a high poverty school, and even with opportunities to switch to "easier" schools, I do not want that. I want to be here and teach these strong, resilient children. I want to help them be the best people they can be. Some people are quick to write them off but I know they have amazing little brains just waiting to be tapped into!

My Project

It seems simple enough right? If you’re sick stay home. Unfortunately that doesn’t happen due to parents needing to work and other life circumstances. That leads to needing tissues...lots and lots of tissues! Also, I am constantly wiping things down with Lysol wipes to help prevent us all from getting sick! These supplies, along with the paper towels will help me keep our classroom healthy. The kids all enjoy cleaning and it also teaches them responsibility. The scented oils are also a positive needed addition to my room. These keep the room smelling clean and feeling good which helps our learning environment. These simple supplies are expensive and add up quickly when I’m buying them through the year. Any donation at all will be helpful and I’m grateful.
