This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As the 2018-2019 school year rapidly approaches, I am filled with excitement and anticipation as so what my first group of students will be like! Although I have not met my students yet, I do know that this project would highly benefit them and promote the learning environment.

I will be working in a title 1 school where 70% of students are on free/reduced lunch.

85% of the student population are minority. I can't wait to meet my beautiful groups of students!

My Project

Asking an adult to sit still while working is hopeless, it's the same concept for 9 year-olds. Students love to have the option to sit anywhere in the classroom to complete work rather than at their desk in a traditional chair.

Having flexible seating options promote students to be on task, to take charge of their learning, to get creative during assignments, and to choose which option will personally benefit them the most.

With this project, students will have the opportunity to use movement while working on a wobble stool, getting comfy on the floor or lightly bouncing at their desk. This project could be used for many years and many students to come. Thank you for all donations! My students and I appreciate your generosity to our classroom!
