My students need 24 yoga mats and 3 soccer balls so they can exercise! They love doing yoga poses but we don't have enough mats.

My Students

Where can we get P.E. equipment with all the budget cuts? My students love doing yoga poses but we don't have enough mats. Currently we do yoga on the wood floor in the gym, not very comfy, not to mention slippery. I want to teach my students how to play soccer but we don't have any soccer balls.

My students are in kindergarten though fifth grade in Northern CA.

Some of my students love to be active and learn team sports but we are in need of equipment. Some are couch potatoes that just want to play video games, which I want to CHANGE! Currently, they are learning good health habits in eating and exercise. After working hard inside the classroom they just want to have fun. I want to show them how to have fun and exercise at the same time. Our school is small, but big on school pride and family involvement. We are a very low-income school with many budget cuts.

My Project

My students love practicing yoga, it would be so nice if each of them had a yoga mat to practice on. Currently they are slipping and sliding around on the wood floor. Doing yoga with kids is way to make being heathy FUN. In addition, they want to learn how to play soccer but with no soccer balls it can't happen. Team sports help build problem solving skills and help create a bond between students then continues in the classroom. Movement based activities help students gain self awareness and calming skills techniques. It also builds children's confidence, self-esteem, stimulates creativity and self-expression.

My students want to participate in P.E.

activities like yoga and soccer but our budget has been cut in half. We have no funds for P.E. equipment and what we do have is warn out, old or missing. With your donation my kids will be able to participate like real yoga students, and learn to play soccer with real soccer balls. Having good equipment will have a huge impact, my kids will feel special having their own equipment. When they make a Warrior I pose they will feel like real Warriors!
