Accolades for Acadeca and Praise for Pentathlon with T-shirts!
Help me give my students the Academic Pentathlon and Decathlon the team shirts that they deserve for all their hard work, without having to worry about the price!
I am still fairly new coaching our Academic Decathlon and Academic Pentathlon (8th grade team). I'm still learning how to coach both of these teams at once. The return to the classroom has been difficult for all and I want to do my best to show students how much their work means to me as a teacher and as their coach.
With this in mind, I want to support my students by giving them team t-shirts to commemorate this year and encourage them to always try their best.
My academic decathlon and pentathlon students need this recognition, especially for their hard work being done during this difficult time. Many students on the team couldn't possibly pay the price of over $38 for a team shirt and many of them pick up the free meals offered by LAUSD to take home. Most students on the high school team have been competing for years and they show so much dedication and enthusiasm. I'm so proud of them!
They have done so much for our school and they need to be supported and celebrated.
My Project
My academic pentathlon and decathlon teams need to promote our team as we return to classrooms. With our school locked down for almost a year, these students feel more discouraged than ever before. I encourage them and try my best to prove to them that they are able to succeed, but it's helpful for their self-esteem if they receive a reward for their efforts. This is especially true for the 8th-grade and 9th-grade students on the team because this is new to them and I hope it will encourage them to stay on the team next year.
The gift of these supplies will have a huge impact on my students' willpower to try their best in competition, feel appreciated for all their hard work, and also promote the team to others.
My students should able to feel that they have achieved something and that it's recognized for years to come, so I would like to give them team t-shirts to all of them for their achievement. I hope they will continue to wear the shirts to help promote the team and the entire school will recognize their special dedication.
These customized shirts will have our school's colors (teal and black), name, logo (cougar), and school quote: "Never Give Up on a Dream." On the back, all team members are listed with the LAUSD acadeca or pentathlon seal. Each shirt will have the individual team name stitched on the sleeve. These are beautiful shirts we created 2 years ago and it's a rare gem for a student to own one of them and proudly wear at school.
