This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Many of the students in my teaching community come to school with a smile and an eager learning attitude, they have challenges that they have to overcome before coming to school.
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school, in Atlanta, I know that my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom.
These young scholars want to learn and make good choices. Sometimes peer pressure may sneak in and cause them not to make the best choices.
My Project
The scholars at my school wear school uniforms. If they have an accident at school they have to wear non-uniform clothes. If the clothes provided are too small or to big, we have to contact their parents or guardians.I want my scholars to be able to get cleaned up and get back in a positive learning environment quickly. The undergarments will allow them an opportunity to change. The socks will allow them to get out of wet or soiled socks promptly. I am requesting shirts and pants in various sizes so they can change and not stand out in front of their peers.
