Describing my students isn't an easy task. Many would say that they are inspirational, creative and hard working. They are all unique, unique in their interests, their learning, their abilities and so much more. What they all have in common is their desire to learn each day despite difficulties that they encounter.
Our classroom is amazing because we understand that everyone learns at their own pace.
As the teacher, I pride myself in making sure my students are always engaged, motivated and inspired to create their own learning.
My Project
Our classroom has been lucky enough to receive funding for Ozobots, Spheros, and Dash and Dot robots. Our students love learning to code and practicing STEAM skills with our robots, but we are in need of a few accessories!
Coding is the language of the future, so in our classroom, we are aiming to be future-ready by learning about coding and robotics.
Our goal is to engage every learner through the use of technology and prepare them for a future that includes problem-solving skills, collaboration, and technology. We cannot wait to enhance our math and science curriculum through the use of our robots and their accessories - with a focus on skills needed for 21st century living.
With these materials, we plan on using our Dash and Dot to complete coding challenges, including the launcher pack and teaching out robots to play basketball! We are excited to have more materials (like paper, markers, and stickers) to use with our Ozobots, which are helping to develop our coding skills. We will be using our Ozobots across all classes - building mazes, coding maps, and designing math word problems with coding!
