My students need Chromebooks in order to access online resources to support their learning in the Arabic language classroom.

My Students
Our school, located in West Englewood, teaches Arabic and Chinese to a diverse student population. Each year nearly 400 students work towards mastering the Arabic language at our school, which has one of the largest Arabic language programs for high school students in the US.
In order to best serve our student population, we need the tools to support their education and learning.
Having access to technology in the classroom can make a world of difference. This would eliminate the need for students to rely on their phones for research, games, and enrichment activities.
My Project
Currently, we are limited in our ability to access technology on daily basis. The addition of five chrome books would allow my students to create projects, do research, and learn to type in Arabic.
Students will use these resources to access innovative platforms focused on language learning that will enable them to read, write, and speak in Arabic!
With this technology, I will be able to use stations daily. This will allow students to learn independently, and work in small groups. In my Arabic II classes, I would like to focus on teaching my students to type, which is an essential skill in the 21st century. The ability to type in Arabic will allow students to do research in the target language. This will give my students access to a whole new world of information.
