My Students

I work at a public high school in San Francisco and teach Social Studies classes and English Language Learners who are usually recent immigrants to the U.S. My students are very motivated to improve their English skills and diligently persevere in their educational goals.

Because I teach mostly 10th-grade students, this will be the first time they have stepped foot in the school building!

Their 9th-grade year was entirely virtual.

I am working especially hard this year to make our classroom a space they feel is safe (clean, disinfected, with fresh air) and welcoming.

My Project

I value collaborative and creative learning, so students work on many projects throughout the year. One issue the new classroom I am in this year has is the lack of cabinets, shelves, and bookcases to store reference materials, craft supplies, and devices.

Available storage will allow my students to feel more at-home in their classroom and independently access what they need when working with classmates.

I carefully chose the most economical, long-lasting shelving I could find. I know these units will serve thousands of students over their many years of use in my classroom!
