Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

My Project
I currently teach in a public school in a community where over 40% of residents speak a language other than English in the home.
As a Spanish teacher, I have lots of resources for English and Spanish learners; however, as the year goes by I have noticed that my classroom could definitely be more accessible for our other language populations.
My wishlist below includes Spanish-Portuguese, English-Portuguese dictionaries and Chinese-English dictionaries. In addition to traditional dictionaries, I have also included picture dictionaries to help the students who struggle with proficiency in English or their own languages. I have also included a few books in Chinese to encourage students to read in their home language.
By including a variety of books and dictionaries in the classroom that reflect the heritage languages of my students, students will feel more welcomed in the classroom.
