My Students

I have an amazing group of 3rd graders this year. I am noticing that this group loves to read! The downside is that I don't have enough of relevant, engaging book for such a diverse group of readers. I would love to have a variety of books for students to engage in!

My Project

Students learn in many different ways. We have students who prefer to read books with nothing but words. We also have students who are new to English, or below grade level who can't access those words. Engaging books, with images, like graphic novels can be a "door in" to literacy and reading. I believe that having these books available in our classroom will definitely get kids excited about reading and creative writing. Students will be exposed to the different ways that people use literacy to create and will make reading accessible to everyone!
